Alterpacks Pte. Ltd
Alterpacks, a Singapore based start-up, upcycles food disposed by manufacturers to create a replacement to plastic food containers. Their proprietary technology, uses brewers spent grains, made up of malt and cereals, that is disposed after processing milo or beer, to create bio-pellets and bio-sheet products. Alterpacks pellets may be used in standard manufacturing machines replacing petroleum-based resins. The spent grains products made from bio-sheets have received US FDA and Singapore Food Agency certification and will be home compostable. Alterpacks has collaborated with the United Nations Development Programme in Indonesia to combat plastic pollution and are piloting their containers across APAC.
